ABOUT BODYWORKS FOR VETS

A NONPROFIT PROVIDING COMPLEMENTARY BODYWORK SERVICES FOR VETERANS

More and more veterans are using integrative therapies such as massage therapy, energy therapies, acupuncture, and other forms of body work as an adjunct or as an alternative to other treatment options for the mental and physical illnesses they face after combat.

For example, according to the American Massage Therapy Association (2014), massage therapy may benefit military veterans' mental health and general wellness. Recent research shows military veterans reported significant reductions in ratings of anxiety, worry, depression and physical pain after massage therapy. The research also suggests declining levels of tension and irritability following massage therapy. For many veterans, integrative therapies are generally a safe option with less side effects than other treatment options.

Bodyworks for Vets is a volunteer-based nonprofit organization [501 (c) (3) (pending)] that is fully funded by donations and provides complimentary bodywork services to veterans.

Our mission is to assist veterans on their road to recovery through holistic therapies that complement their current treatments.
